Climate change affects our environment in multiple ways. For example, periods of excessive heat are becoming more frequent and pose severe risks to human health – particularly for those working outdoors in sectors such as agriculture.

The online seminar will explore the impact of heat on working conditions in agriculture and the effects of heat stress on workers’ safety. Although this is a global issue, the seminar will focus specifically on Asia.

We will discuss the topic and possible preventive measures with our two experts:

  • Dr Yuka Ujita – Senior Specialist on Occupational Safety and Health, ILO Asia and the Pacific
  • Dr Vidhya Venugopal – Professor & Certified Industrial Hygienist (BOHS) at WHO Collaborating Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, among others

जलवायु परिवर्तन हमारे पर्यावरण को कई तरीकों से नया आकार दे रहा है, और कार्य की दुनिया भी समान रूप से प्रभावित है। कृषि, मत्स्य पालन और वानिकी जैसे बाहरी क्षेत्र विशेष रूप से जोखिम में हैं, क्योंकि वे सीधे तौर पर संवेदनशील पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र पर निर्भर हैं।

यह संगोष्ठी इस बात की जांच करेगी कि जलवायु परिवर्तन कार्य करने की स्थितियों को कैसे प्रभावित कर रहा है, जिसमें एशियाई संदर्भ में हीट स्ट्रेस (गर्मी से होने वाले तनाव) की बढ़ती चुनौती पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जाएगा। हमारे विशेषज्ञ इसके प्रभाव का पता लगाएंगे और रोकथाम के लिए संभावित रणनीतियों पर चर्चा करेंगे:
