This course provides technical knowledge about nutrient management. It aims to clarify and mainstream terms and practices in organic production. 

Key Achievements

  • Participants can explain the interdependencies of nutrients, plant growth and nutrient management. They name key nutrients and can explain their overall cycles, including availabilities, losses and flows.

  • Participants learn about significant organic practices and different nutrient suppliers, including the basics of their nutrient ratios.

  • Participants identify different budgeting methodologies, and their different use cases/cases for application (farm-gate, soil surface, system budgets, etc.)

  • Participants understand the tool “farm-gate budgeting” and find the first steps of application.

  • Participants have a clear and common understanding of terminology and the use of terms regarding nutrient management.
